Regarded as Nueva Ecija's entertainment capital, Cabanatuan is home to four malls – NE Mall (the first ever mall built in the city), NE Pacific Mall (the city's most complete mall which has an estimated daily footcount of 300,000 people), Robinsons Cabanatuan (a three storey mall located beside NE Pacific), and Mega Center the Mall (a five storey mall located near the city proper, and the largest mall in the city), other shopping centers are Puregold Cabanatuan, NE Superbodega and Melanio's . SM Prime owns a 25 hectare property in Brgy. Sta. Arcadia and a 4.2-hectare property in Brgy. H. Concepcion.SM City Cabanatuan will commence construction on late 2012 or early 2013. According to sources, the mall will be constructed on the 4.2-hectare site, beside NE Superbodega and will have a gross floor area of 86,000 square meters scattered on five floors. Clubs exist in the city, most of which are located in NE Pacific's sidestrip, in barangay Kapitan Pepe and along Maharlika Highway.
