Career
Even before working with the people at InFocus, Kyle Ranson had experience with projectors at his old job with Compaq. He had helped the company get into the projector market and compete with the industry leader InFocus.
The team at InFocus originally decided to hire Ranson mainly because they wanted to shift from an emphasis on innovation to marketing of products in the competitive world of digital projectors. Ranson took the place of former CEO John Harker who had led the company since 1992, however Harker still holds the role of Chairman. Ranson likes to think of his management style as very "Team Oriented" and is described by others as being a "Strong Leader" with a "dynamic personalitiy."
The estimated yearly salary of Mr. Ranson is about $567,907 including bonuses. This is about 250,000 dollars less than the chairman John Harker still makes.
On May 16, 2007, InFocus announced that Mr. Ranson would be leaving the company to pursue other interests. Ranson also resigned from the company’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Ranson is now an owner of a windproof-waterproof cycling gear company, Showers Pass. The company is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

Famous quotes containing the word career:
“A black boxers career is the perfect metaphor for the career of a black male. Every day is like being in the gym, sparring with impersonal opponents as one faces the rudeness and hostility that a black male must confront in the United States, where he is the object of both fear and fascination.”
—Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
“My ambition in life: to become successful enough to resume my career as a neurasthenic.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
“I seemed intent on making it as difficult for myself as possible to pursue my male career goal. I not only procrastinated endlessly, submitting my medical school application at the very last minute, but continued to crave a conventional female role even as I moved ahead with my male pursuits.”
—Margaret S. Mahler (18971985)
