Early Life
Bun Rany was born Bun Sam Heng in Krouch Chhmar district, Kampong Cham Province. The fourth of five children of a farming family of Chinese descent, with roots from Hainan province in China. Bun Rany finished secondary schooling and was trained as a nurse, later on she became a medical officer.
