Bulloch Academy

Bulloch Academy is an academy (grades Pre-K–12) in Statesboro, Georgia, United States.

The school houses pre-kindergarten children and is funded by the Georgia Lottery. Students reside in three main buildings, the Kindergarten Wing (pre-kindergarten and kindergarten), the Lower School (grades 1–5) and the Upper School (grades 6–12).

Bulloch Academy is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SACS/SAIS). Students from Bulloch and neighboring counties can learn during their academic preparation for college and their development of social skills and values. Sports and academics are the main focus of the school. Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten curricula are in subjects like language, mathematics, creative expression and self-help.

In grades one to five, the language arts, mathematics, social studies and science are studied in small classroom settings where each child can receive individual attention. Computer technology, physical education, art and music are also studied at the school.

In the middle grades, students concentrate on language arts for 100-minute length classes. Social studies, mathematics and science are taught in a 55-minute class period. Exploratory Spanish, computer technology, art, music and physical education are also available. No arts are offered in seventh and eighth grade.

At the high-school level, Bulloch Academy's curriculum consist of college preparation and Advanced Placement courses in English (2), mathematics, science, social studies (2) and art. Twenty-two Carnegie units are required to graduate with a College Preparatory diploma while 25 units are required to graduate with a College Preparatory with Distinction Diploma. Although there are very few elective courses offered, some are available in weight training, creative writing, and psychology.
