The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC) is a consortium of the region’s premier health care, life sciences research, and medical education institutions, all co-located on 120 acres (0.49 km2) in downtown Buffalo, New York. The BNMC is dedicated to the cultivation of a world-class medical campus for clinical care, research, education, and entrepreneurship. The BNMC was founded in 2001 by a consortium (including the University at Buffalo and Roswell Park Cancer Institute). This project comprises one of the five "Strategic Investment Areas" that make up Buffalo, NY's Queen City Hub Plan, the city's strategic plan for urban redevelopment.
The BNMC:
Coordinates activities related to the planning, development, and enhancement within its 120 acres footprint.
Facilitates collaboration among member institutions, as well as the community at large. Addresses issues of common concern to member institutions and neighbors. Creates a distinct environment that provides opportunities for active living. |

Famous quotes containing the words buffalo, niagara and/or medical:
“As I started with her out of the city warmly enveloped in buffalo furs, I could not but think how nice it would be to drive on and on, so that nobody should ever catch us.”
—Anthony Trollope (18151882)
“We set up a certain aim, and put ourselves of our own will into the power of a certain current. Once having done that, we find ourselves committed to usages and customs which we had not before fully known, but from which we cannot depart without giving up the end which we have chosen. But we have no right, therefore, to claim that we are under the yoke of necessity. We might as well say that the man whom we see struggling vainly in the current of Niagara could not have helped jumping in.”
—Anna C. Brackett (18361911)
“One fellow I was dating in medical school ... was a veterinarian and he wanted to get married. I said, but youre going to be moving to Minneapolis, and he said, oh, you can quit and Ill take care of you. I said, Go.”
—Sylvia Beckman (b. c. 1931)
