Bright House Networks Open

The Bright House Networks Open was an annual golf tournament for professional women golfers on the FUTURES Tour, the LPGA's developmental tour. The event was part of the FUTURES Tour's schedule from 1998 through 2008. From 1998 through 2003 it was played at The Club at Eaglebrooke. Since 2004 it has been played at Cleveland Heights Golf Course. Both courses are located in Lakeland, Florida.

The most recent title sponsor was Bright House Networks, a cable television and digital services provider with headquarters in Syracuse, New York.

The Tournament was a 54-hole event, as are most FUTURES Tour tournaments, and included pre-tournament pro-am opportunities, in which local amateur golfers could play with the professional golfers from the Tour as a benefit for local charities. Charities benefiting from the Bright House Networks Open included the The First Tee of Lakeland.

Tournament names through the years:

  • 2002-2003: Florida Futures Golf Challenge
  • 2004-2007: Lakeland Duramed FUTURES Classic
  • 2008: Bright House Networks Open

Famous quotes containing the words networks open, bright, house, networks and/or open:

To be perfectly, brutally honest, those of us who are still carrying diaper everywhere we go are not at our most scintillating time of life....We need to remember that at one time in our lives, we all had senses of humor and knew things that were going on in the world. And if we just keep our social networks open, there will be people ready to listen when we once again have intelligent things to say.
    Louise Lague (20th century)

But my deepest and most secret love belongs to the fair-haired and the blue-eyed, the bright children of life, the happy, the charming and the ordinary.
    Thomas Mann (1875–1955)

I know [my label], in any case: a double face, a charming Janus, and underneath, the house motto: “Be wary”. On my business cards: “Jean-Baptiste Clamence, actor”.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

To be perfectly, brutally honest, those of us who are still carrying diaper everywhere we go are not at our most scintillating time of life....We need to remember that at one time in our lives, we all had senses of humor and knew things that were going on in the world. And if we just keep our social networks open, there will be people ready to listen when we once again have intelligent things to say.
    Louise Lague (20th century)

O wind, rend open the heat,
    cut apart the heat,
    rend it to tatters.

    Fruit cannot drop
    through this thick air—
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)
