Brendan has not been capped for Australia nor Malaysia. Brendan is qualified to play for Australia as he was born and raised at Australia. He is also qualified to play for Malaysia through parentage. But Brendan has yet not decided to play for either Australia or Malaysia. however, in a recent interview Gan revealed that he is interested to play for Malaysia and he would be open to play for Malaysia if the opportunity arises. He has decided that he wants to play for the Malaysia national football team
