In 2001, Zaun was the subject of a police report filed by an ex-girlfriend who claimed that he was harassing her at her home. According to the report, Zaun pounded on her door and windows while "yell from outside calling her slut and other names." Zaun did not deny any of the claims in the police report, but noted that the incident would "not change his campaign" against Representative Boswell.
