On 26 April 2008, it was confirmed that Hodge would represent the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League for five weeks. He played three matches in the first edition without any success. In the second edition, he was the highest scorer for his team. He was also the most consistent player of the team. But in the fourth edition of the IPL he was signed by the Kochi Tuskers Kerala. For the fifth edition of the Indian premier league, Rajasthan Royals bought him for $475,000. His base price was $200,000.
