Boxwood Public School - Spirit Houses

Spirit Houses

There are four Spirit Houses in Boxwood Public School. They have the names of different breeds of horses – Pinto, Palomino, Mustang, and Ranger. These names were adopted in November 2009. All students and staff are assigned to a Spirit House. Collectively, members of each Spirit House will earn recognition for their respective Spirit House when they participate in different kinds of school activities. Spirit Houses also provide a structure to easily and quickly divide students into groups for special events and house league activities.

My Mother! when I learnt that thou wast dead,
Say, wast thou conscious of the tears I shed?
Hovered thy spirit o’er thy sorrowing son,
Wretch even then, life’s journey just begun?
    William Cowper (1731–1800)

Nothing will be left white but here a birch,
And there a clump of houses with a church.
