History of Bosnia and Herzegovina At The Eurovision Song Contest
Prior to 1993, Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the Eurovision Song Contest as part of Yugoslavia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's best result was in 2006, when Hari Mata Hari came 3rd with the song "Lejla" (second in the semi-final). Since 2004, it has reached the final every year (together with Greece, Russia, Romania and Ukraine) and therefore has never been eliminated in the semi-final.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will not participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö because of hard economical situation that the broadcast is in. The broadcaster hopes to return to the contest in 2014 if the financial situation improves.

Famous quotes containing the words history of, history, song and/or contest:
“The second day of July 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more”
—John Adams (17351826)
