Blacks A Fake

Blacks A Fake is a brown Standardbred gelding that won the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010 Inter Dominion Championships, making him the only four-time winner of Australasia's premier harness race. He finished second, beaten by a long neck, in the 2009 Inter Dominion to Mr Feelgood (USA). His other achievements include wins in the Victoria Cup and Hunter Cup and three Australian Horse of the Year titles. He is Australasia's highest earning Standardbred, and (excluding exchange-rate considerations) is the world's highest earning pacer.

Foaled on 7 October 2000, Blacks A Fake is a son of the Little Brown Jug Series winner and a Leading Australian Sire, Fake Left (USA), out of Colada Hanover by Vanston Hanover. Blacks A Fake was inbred to the million dollar winner Albatross in the third generation (3x3).

He was trained and driven by Natalie Rasmussen throughout his entire career. When Blacks a Fake suffered a major injury in 2003, Rasmussen nursed him back to health. Rasmussen also overcame crippling injuries in the early 2000s herself when it was thought that she would never be able to drive pacers again. She is the first woman in Australia to have trained and driven an Inter Dominion winner and the first Queenslander to win four.

Famous quotes containing the words blacks and/or fake:

The moon has nothing to be sad about,
Staring from her hood of bone.
She is used to this sort of thing.
    Her blacks crackle and drag.
    Sylvia Plath (1932–1963)

The childless experts on child raising also bring tears of laughter to my eyes when they say, “I love children because they’re so honest.” There is not an agent in the CIA or the KGB who knows how to conceal the theft of food, how to fake being asleep, or how to forge a parent’s signature like a child.
    Bill Cosby (20th century)
