Biotrog - Blades & Bullets

Blades & Bullets

Several years after its first publication, INFINITY Publishing decided to cut back on Kick Fighter's production cost. Revamping the titles which appeared in the magazine, there was a re-shuffling of characters which appeared on the magazine. Biotrog now had other Kick Fighter characters on his turf, most notably the secret agent Jolas Suarez (Ken) and the outworlder Voltar (Bison). The former became his partner, thus the title Blades and Bullets.

The series starts with the outworlder Voltar, fresh from his battle with longtime rival Balzaur, crashing on Biotrog's prowling grounds. Seeing the trail created by Voltar's descent (from the sky), Biotrog quickly moves to investigate. However, on the way to the crash site, Biotrog was jumped from behind by an unknown assailant who quickly disappeared after the attack. Anyway, Biotrog was too late when he arrived at the scene as Voltar was already awake. The two were quickly involved in a melee where Biotrog gained the upper hand as Voltar was wielding less power than usual. However, as he was nearly winning, Biotrog was again attacked by the same assailant earlier, now revealing himself to be the sociopath Bushido (Honda). Bushido's goal was to recruit Voltar and Biotrog was on his way. The two fought while Voltar, amazed at the turn of events, decided to hold back and kill whoever is left standing.

The battle raged on and Bushido overpowered our bionic hero. As he was about to deliver the final blows, Bushido was shot on the arm by a newly arrived Jolas Suarez. Realizing that his enemies were increasing and that his own powers are somewhat malfunctioning, Voltar decided to escape taking Bushido with him. Biotrog who was injured from the battle was taken to the hospital by his new ally.

One notable event in this short-lived series is that Roger Summers(the alter-ego of Biotrog) and Dianne Mendoza (the alter-ego of the female ninja Angel) finally tied the knot.
