Bible Companion - The Bible Companion As A Reading Aid

The Bible Companion As A Reading Aid

By following the Bible Companion the reader is led, in small portions, through the whole Bible in a year. The Old Testament is read once in the year, and the New Testament is read twice. The plan starts on January 1 in the Book of Genesis, Book of Psalms and Book of Matthew and works its way through the scriptures as the year goes along providing around 4 chapters per day. Here is an example of a section from the Bible Companion: -

Famous quotes containing the words companion, reading and/or aid:

I have found it a singular luxury to talk across the pond to a companion on the opposite side.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Nothing is so engaging as the little domestic cares into which you appear to be entering, and as to reading it is useful for only filling up the chinks of more useful and healthy occupations.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

Frustrate a Frenchman, he will drink himself to death; an Irishman, he will die of angry hypertension; a Dane, he will shoot himself; an American, he will get drunk, shoot you, then establish a million dollar aid program for your relatives. Then he will die of an ulcer.
—Stanley Rudin. The New York Times (August 22, 1963)
