Belmont Bruins

The Belmont Bruins (formerly the Belmont Rebels, until 1995) are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of Belmont University, based in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The school sponsors 17 athletic programs (8 men's, 9 women's), all of which compete in the NCAA Division I. On July 1, 2012, Belmont became a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) in all sports except for men's soccer, which will compete as a Division I independent, as the Ohio Valley does not sponsor men's soccer. Previously, Belmont had been a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference (A-Sun) since 2001. The school's athletic director is Mike Strickland. The program's mascot is Bruiser, and the school colors are navy blue and red.
