Baron Beauchamp of Bletso - Life

Life

The son of Giles de Beauchamp of Alcester, later of Powyke, and Catherine de Bures, Beauchamp married a daughter of John Pateshull, who had fortified Bletsoe Castle in Bedfordshire, and became chamberlain to King Edward III. He later came into possession of the manor of Bletsoe, which became his seat, and in 1363 he was summoned to Parliament as Lord Beauchamp of Bletsoe.
