Bardufoss - Climate

Climate

Although not far from the coast, Bardufoss and Målselvdalen is known for a somewhat more continental climate, and hence, colder winters (but with less humidity and little wind) compared to the coastal areas. There is a reliable snow cover in winter, while summer days often are warmer than in Tromsø.

Famous quotes containing the word climate:

There is much to be said against the climate on the coast of British Columbia and Alaska; yet, I believe that the scenery of one good day will compensate the tourists who will go there in increasing numbers.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)

Then climate is a great impediment to idle persons; we often resolve to give up the care of the weather, but still we regard the clouds and the rain.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Nobody is so constituted as to be able to live everywhere and anywhere; and he who has great duties to perform, which lay claim to all his strength, has, in this respect, a very limited choice. The influence of climate upon the bodily functions ... extends so far, that a blunder in the choice of locality and climate is able not only to alienate a man from his actual duty, but also to withhold it from him altogether, so that he never even comes face to face with it.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
