Barbados At The Commonwealth Games
Barbados have sent teams to thirteen Commonwealth Games. The first Games at which they competed were in 1954, and the only event since they have not attended was the 1986 Games. They have won eleven medals, with a twenty-eight-year medal drought between 1970 and 1998.

Famous quotes containing the words commonwealth and/or games:
“Ithe commonwealth I would by contraries
Execute all things; for no kind of traffic
Would I admit; no name of magistrate;
Letters should not be known; riches, poverty,
And use of service, none; contract, succession,
Bourn, bound of land, tilth, vineyard, none;
No use of metal, corn, or wine, or oil;
No occupation; all men idle, all,
And women too, but innocent and pure.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“The rules of drinking games are taken more serious than the rules of war.”
—Chinese proverb.
