Carl Czerny ( ; 21 February 1791 – 15 July 1857) was an Austrian pianist, composer and teacher. His vast musical production (more than a thousand pieces and up to Opus 861) is undergoing a process of rediscovery. Czerny´s books of études for the piano are still widely used in the pianistic pedagogy.
