Bad Animals Studio

Bad Animals Studio is a music and media recording studio on 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle. It was originally founded as Steve Lawson Productions by founders Steve and Debbie Lawson in 1979. In 1991, Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson (of Heart) joined forces with Lawson to create Studio X. In 1992, the studio borrowed the name Bad Animals from Heart's 1987 studio album Bad Animals. It has a highly acclaimed large studio, Studio X, for large band setups, and orchestras etc.

In July 1997, Bad Animals sold Studio X, and the Wilson sisters sold their interest in the company back to the Lawsons. In 1999 Steve Lawson sold Bad Animals to Mike McAuliffe, Dave Howe, Charlie Nordstrom, and Tom Mcgurk. They are still going strong 11 years later.

Famous quotes containing the words bad, animals and/or studio:

I don’t like your miserable lonely single “front name.” It is so limited, so meagre; it has no versatility; it is weighted down with the sense of responsibility; it is worn threadbare with much use; it is as bad as having only one jacket and one hat; it is like having only one relation, one blood relation, in the world. Never set a child afloat on the flat sea of life with only one sail to catch the wind.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

Lions, wolves, and vultures don’t live together in herds, droves or flocks. Of all animals of prey, man is the only sociable one. Every one of us preys upon his neighbour, and yet we herd together.
    John Gay (1685–1732)

[T]hose wholemeal breads ... look hand-thrown, like studio pottery, and are fine if you have all your teeth. But if not, then not. Perhaps the rise ... of the ... factory-made loaf, which may easily be mumbled to a pap betweeen gums, reflects the sorry state of the nation’s dental health.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)
