Australian Community Television Alliance

The Australian Community Television Alliance (ACTA) is a not-for-profit industry association representing free-to-air community television (CTV) channels licensed by the Australian Government under the Cth. Broadcasting Services Act, 1992.

ACTA has been established to represent existing and potential CTV licensees and to advance the interests of community television.

ACTA is currently governed by an executive group currently consisting of the heads of the capital city CTV stations.

Full voting membership of ACTA is open to CTV licensees who broadcast for more than 12 hours per day for at least 5 days per week. Non-voting associate membership is open to CTV licensees not meeting this qualification.

Famous quotes containing the words australian, community and/or alliance:

The Australian mind, I can state with authority, is easily boggled.
    Charles Osborne (b. 1927)

The poorest children in a community now find the beneficent kindergarten open to them from the age of two-and-a-half to six years. Too young heretofore to be eligible to any public school, they have acquired in their babyhood the vicious tendencies of their own depraved neighborhoods; and to their environment at that tender age had been due the loss of decency and self-respect that no after example of education has been able to restore to them.
    Virginia Thrall Smith (1836–1903)

It is a power stronger than will.... Could a stone escape from the laws of gravity? Impossible. Impossible, for evil to form an alliance with good.
Isidore Ducasse, Comte de LautrĂ©amont (1846–1870)
