Auckland Regional Transport Authority

The former Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) was established in 2004 to be the central co-ordinating agency for transport (especially but not only public transport) in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. In this role, ARTA provided public transport services, assigned funding and subsidies, and organiseed and advised on many aspects of regionwide transport. ARTA was under the control of the Auckland Regional Council (ARC) and was replaced by Auckland Transport on 1 November 2010.

Famous quotes containing the words transport and/or authority:

One may disavow and disclaim vices that surprise us, and whereto our passions transport us; but those which by long habits are rooted in a strong and ... powerful will are not subject to contradiction. Repentance is but a denying of our will, and an opposition of our fantasies.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

Establishing limits, structure, rules, and expectations takes self-confidence on the part of parents. Parents need to recognize that they are the legitimate authority figures in their households and feel secure in that role.
    Karen Levine (20th century)
