Association For The Advancement of Medical Instrumentation - Focus

Focus

Committees of manufacturers, healthcare professionals, regulators, scientists, academics, and other interested parties research and develop new or revise existing recommended practices and standards that address the use, care, and processing of performance requirements to be met by medical devices and technology.

Although AAMI is a voluntary organization, its recommended practices and standards are considered to be a major resource of healthcare guidelines, and noncompliance with these standards is cited by regulatory organizations that inspect healthcare facilities.

Famous quotes containing the word focus:

Why is it so difficult—so degradingly difficult—to bring the notion of Time into mental focus and keep it there for inspection? What an effort, what fumbling, what irritating fatigue!
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

While the focus in the landscape of Old World cities was commonly government structures, churches, or the residences of rulers, the landscape and the skyline of American cities have boasted their hotels, department stores, office buildings, apartments, and skyscrapers. In this grandeur, Americans have expressed their Booster Pride, their hopes for visitors and new settlers, and customers, for thriving commerce and industry.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)

If we focus mostly on how we might have been partly or wholly to blame for what might have been less than a perfect, problem- free childhood, our guilt will overwhelm their pain. It becomes a story about us, not them. . . . When we listen, accept, and acknowledge, we feel regret instead, which is simply guilt without neurosis.
    Jane Adams (20th century)
