-Guy B. Teachey Elementary School is our first "Honor School of Excellence" for the 2004-2005 school year

-Charles W. McCrary and Lindley Park Elementary School have partnered with the NC Zoo to work with a school in Uganda, utilizing technology to communicate and share curriculum

-More than 30 Asheboro City Schools teachers have National Board Certification

-Our pre-school program has earned a 5-star rating from NC, the highest available and NAEYC accreditation

-All teachers and staff wear photo ID badges for student safety

-We have a comprehensive Career Development program for grades K-12

-Asheboro City Schools has a master's degree reimbursement program for teachers and on-site master’s degree course work from UNCG

-During the 2004-2005 school year, over 9,000 hours of staff development were offered

-During the 2004-2005 school year, five AHS students were accepted to Governor's School
