Ascot Road Tube Station

Ascot Road tube station is a planned tube station in Watford, Hertfordshire, England. It will be the first station on the Metropolitan line's Croxley Rail Link diversion to Watford Junction. This station is to replace the disused station of Croxley Green. It is also to replace the current Watford station, allowing the line to that station to be closed for passenger service, so that all trains from Croxley continue to Watford Junction. The station is projected to become an interchange with bicycle facilities and local transportation. It has also been suggested as a Park and Ride location.

The station's entrance will be from the west side of the road. The booking hall and other station facilities will be at street level. The trains will run over the extension of the viaduct link and platforms will be accessed by stairs and lifts.

Famous quotes containing the words road, tube and/or station:

But, where the road runs near the stream,
Oft through the trees they catch a glance
Of passing troops in the sun’s beam—
Pennon, and plume, and flashing lance!
Forth to the world those soldiers fare,
To life, to cities, and to war!
    Matthew Arnold (1822–1888)

Even crushed against his brother in the Tube the average Englishman pretends desperately that he is alone.
    Germaine Greer (b. 1939)
