April Gornik

April Gornik (born 1953, Cleveland, Ohio) is an American artist, known for her American landscape paintings.

Her work Storm and Fires (1990) is included into the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, as well as in many other national museums and private collections.

In 2007, The Smithsonian Art Collectors Program commissioned Gornik to produce a print to benefit the educational and cultural programs of the Smithsonian Associates. The lithograph, entitled Blue Moonlight hangs in the ongoing exhibition Graphic Eloquence in the S. Dillon Ripley Center in the National Mall.

She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Guild Hall Museum in 2003 and was the Neuberger Museum of Art Annual Honoree in 2004.

She is the wife of the painter Eric Fischl, whom she met while attending NSCAD University.
