Angela Orebaugh

Angela Orebaugh is a technology futurist and thought leader with a focus in cybersecurity. She is the author of best selling technology books including Syngress' Wireshark and Ethereal Network Protocol Analyzer Toolkit and Ethereal Packet Sniffing. She is an invited speaker at a variety of cybersecurity conferences and technology events including the SANS Institute and Institute for Applied Network Security.

She currently serves as a cyber technology advisor and consultant for commercial and government clients. She is involved with several National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security initiatives including the authoring of security special publications, the National Vulnerability Database (NVD), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) project, and electronic voting security standards development.

Ms. Orebaugh is an Adjunct Professor for George Mason University where she performs research and development in cybersecurity. At GMU she developed and teaches the Intrusion Detection curriculum for the Masters of Computer Forensics in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Her research includes peer-reviewed publications in the areas of intrusion detection and prevention, data mining, attacker profiling, user behavior analysis, behavioral biometrics, cyber psychology, and network forensics.
