Member Education
Educating members is the top strategic priority of the AANS. Every year, the AANS offers its members a wide array of courses, covering practice management, oral board preparation, and resident education. Complementing the regular curriculum of on-site courses, the AANS offers innovative online vehicles to obtain CME. This is in addition to the CME credits offered at AANS annual meetings.
The AANS supports the highest level of professional excellence through the American Board of Neurological Surgery’s (ABNS) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. While consistently providing exceptional educational programs as part of the CME aspects of recertification, the AANS also offers the ABNS MOC online application tool and data collection activities.

Famous quotes containing the words member and/or education:
“One of the most highly valued functions of used parents these days is to be the villains of their childrens lives, the people the child blames for any shortcomings or disappointments. But if your identity comes from your parents failings, then you remain forever a member of the child generation, stuck and unable to move on to an adulthood in which you identify yourself in terms of what you do, not what has been done to you.”
—Frank Pittman (20th century)
“Infants and young children are not just sitting twiddling their thumbs, waiting for their parents to teach them to read and do math. They are expending a vast amount of time and effort in exploring and understanding their immediate world. Healthy education supports and encourages this spontaneous learning.”
—David Elkind (20th century)
