Amazing Journey

"Amazing Journey" is a song by The Who from the album Tommy. It was written by Pete Townshend. The song involves Tommy, the main character from the album, going on a psychedelic "amazing journey" as his subconsciousness reveals itself to him as a tall stranger dressed in silvery robes. This makes him interpret all sensations as music. (See also: Tommy storyline.)

The song segues into "Sparks", an instrumental.

A live version of the song appears on Live at Leeds. The studio version of this song is also available as downloadable content for the Rock Band video game series.

Famous quotes containing the words amazing and/or journey:

One’s gone, one’s born. It’s an amazing process, isn’t it? As many as I’ve delivered, it never fails to awe me.
    John Lee Mahin (1902–1984)

Science and art, or by the same token, poetry and prose differ from one another like a journey and an excursion. The purpose of the journey is its goal, the purpose of an excursion is the process.
    Franz Grillparzer (1791–1872)
