Criticism

In 2009, in an article in the Sunday Times with regards Hamilton's detox fertility programme, consultant obstetrician and spokeswoman for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Dr Virginia Beckett stated that Hamilton's claims were not supported by scientific or medical research, and Mike Lean, Professor of human nutrition at Glasgow University, described her treatments to boost fertility as "quack medicine". Hamilton made a statement to clarify her position, stating: "I have never made any claim that nutrition can “unblock tubes” – this is simply not true. I make no statement on the effectiveness or otherwise, of treatments other than Nutrition to assist with fertility issues."

Famous quotes containing the word criticism:

A friend of mine spoke of books that are dedicated like this: “To my wife, by whose helpful criticism ...” and so on. He said the dedication should really read: “To my wife. If it had not been for her continual criticism and persistent nagging doubt as to my ability, this book would have appeared in Harper’s instead of The Hardware Age.”
    Brenda Ueland (1891–1985)

Of all the cants which are canted in this canting world—though the cant of hypocrites may be the worst—the cant of criticism is the most tormenting!
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)

Like speaks to like only; labor to labor, philosophy to philosophy, criticism to criticism, poetry to poetry. Literature speaks how much still to the past, how little to the future, how much to the East, how little to the West.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
