Alpha Lambda Zeta (ΑΛZ) is a LGBT service-oriented fraternity for professional and pre-professional women who identify as aggressive lesbians. Membership in Alpha Lambda Zeta is not exclusive to women of a particular race or age. They were founded in 2006 in Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. The fraternity was established to positively impact the community while maintaining a fraternal bond that is fostered by understanding, acceptance and support for aggressive women (i.e. studs, tombois, aggs, butch). The fraternity promotes its mission to eliminate barriers between the LGBTQ community and the greater community and to promote social change.
