History
The Allen County Athletic Conference (ACAC) began with eight schools from Adams (Adams Central), Allen (Carroll, Heritage, Leo, Woodlan), DeKalb (Eastside), Wells (Norwell), and Whitley (Churubusco) Counties. The conference went to a two division format in 1971 with the addition of Homestead and Southern Wells, new schools formed by consolidation. That format ended in 1975, and since then the conference has been between seven and nine teams, with the current lineup's only change since 1989 being the addition of Garrett in 2005. Jay County will join the conference beginning with the 2014-15 school year.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“No one can understand Paris and its history who does not understand that its fierceness is the balance and justification of its frivolity. It is called a city of pleasure; but it may also very specially be called a city of pain. The crown of roses is also a crown of thorns. Its people are too prone to hurt others, but quite ready also to hurt themselves. They are martyrs for religion, they are martyrs for irreligion; they are even martyrs for immorality.”
—Gilbert Keith Chesterton (18741936)
“The history of all previous societies has been the history of class struggles.”
—Karl Marx (18181883)
“I believe my ardour for invention springs from his loins. I cant say that the brassiere will ever take as great a place in history as the steamboat, but I did invent it.”
—Caresse Crosby (18921970)
