All Over the World: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra is a compilation album by the Electric Light Orchestra, released in 2005 (see 2005 in music).

Originally released in the band's home market exclusively (the UK), the album sold very well, becoming the ELO's first Top Ten entry since Dino Record's compilation album The Very Best of the Electric Light Orchestra hit number 4 in 1994. All Over the World sold over 300,000 copies in the UK alone within a year and a half of its release. The albums The Electric Light Orchestra, ELO 2, and Eldorado were not represented on the compilation. The album was repackaged with new album art and re released on 30 May 2011 once more reaching the UK top ten.

Famous quotes containing the words electric, light and/or orchestra:

    The more I see of democracy the more I dislike it. It just brings everything down to the mere vulgar level of wages and prices, electric light and water closets, and nothing else.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

    The light was what it was all about:
    I would not go in till the light went out;
    It would not go out till I came in.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

    “Pop” Wyman ruled here with a firm but gentle hand; no drunken man was ever served at the bar; no married man was allowed to play at the tables; across the face of the large clock was written “Please Don’t Swear,” and over the orchestra appeared the gentle admonition, “Don’t Shoot the Pianist—He’s Doing His Damndest.”
