Alexander Scammell (1747 - October 6, 1781) was a Harvard educated attorney and an officer in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was wounded on September 30, 1781 near Yorktown he died on October 6 in Williamsburg, Virginia, making him the highest ranking American officer killed during the Siege of Yorktown.
