Lord Bridport married Linda Jacqueline Paravicini on 5 January 1972. They had a son, the Honourable Peregrine Alexander Nelson Hood (b. 1974). Lord and Lady Bridport were divorced in 1979. Lady Bridport married, secondly, Michael Howard, 21st Earl of Suffolk. Lord Bridport married secondly Nina Lincoln (The Widow of Formula 1 Driver Jochen Rindt) on 5 December 1979. They had a son, the Honourable Anthony Nelson Hood (b.1983), but were divorced in 1999.
The Heir Presumptive is the present holder's eldest son: The Hon. Peregrine Alexander Nelson Hood (b. 1974) who is engaged to Iranian-American stylist Serena Nikkah (b ca. 1984).
