Dr. Alex Perici Calascione is a member of the Nationalist Party (Partit Nazzjonalista)and on September 10, 2008 was approved as a candidate for the European Parliament elections, on behalf of the European People's Party–European Democrats. He had a poor showing at the 2009 MEP elections.
