Alasdair McDonnell (born 1 September 1949) is an Irish politician, Leader of the Social Democratic and Labour Party and both a Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom and a Member of the Legislative Assembly for South Belfast. On 5 November 2011, he was elected as the new leader of the SDLP.
