Alan Brazil - Media Career

Media Career

In 2001 Brazil joined radio station talkSPORT as a co-presenter on the weekday 6–10am programme. He started off co-presenting with Station Director, Mike Parry, then Graham Beecroft and currently co-presents with Ronnie Irani. The show has since been renamed the 'Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast'. Brazil was sacked from the position in 2004, after the Breakfast Show was broadcast at the Cheltenham Festival, from Tuesday to Thursday. Brazil missed the Friday show, but was reinstated.

Brazil has several catchphrases the most common being "Why" which is often said in quick repetition. On hearing a location Alan will usually say "I've never been" or "beautiful" depending on whether or not he has visited it.

Famous quotes containing the words media and/or career:

Today the discredit of words is very great. Most of the time the media transmit lies. In the face of an intolerable world, words appear to change very little. State power has become congenitally deaf, which is why—but the editorialists forget it—terrorists are reduced to bombs and hijacking.
    John Berger (b. 1926)

I began my editorial career with the presidency of Mr. Adams, and my principal object was to render his administration all the assistance in my power. I flattered myself with the hope of accompanying him through [his] voyage, and of partaking in a trifling degree, of the glory of the enterprise; but he suddenly tacked about, and I could follow him no longer. I therefore waited for the first opportunity to haul down my sails.
    William Cobbett (1762–1835)
