Airport Drive (Melbourne)

Airport Drive (Melbourne)

Airport Drive, is a short 1.5 kilometre semi-standard freeway in Melbourne, Australia, between Sharps Road Tullamarine and the Western Ring Road at Airport West. This road is an important thoroughfare for the Melbourne Airport business park along South Centre Road. A proposed extension of the freeway is to run through the business park to Melrose Drive, Melbourne Airport, yet no announcement or commitment has been made to construct the road.

Airport Drive opened to traffic in May 1997 and was declared a freeway under the Road Management Act 2004.

Famous quotes containing the words airport and/or drive:

Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.
    Fran Lebowitz (b. 1950)

Sean Thornton: I don’t get this. Why do we have to have you along. Back in the states I’d drive up, honk the horn, a gal’d come runnin’ out.
Mary Kate Danaher: Come a runnin’. I’m no woman to be honked at and come a runnin’.
    Frank S. Nugent (1908–1965)
