Ageing - Political Struggle Against Ageing

Political Struggle Against Ageing

Though a lot of scientists state that radical life extension, delaying and stopping ageing are achievable, there are still no international or national programmes focused on stopping ageing or on radical life extension. There are political forces staying for and against life extension. In 2012 in Russia, and then in USA, Israel and Netherlands the Longevity political parties started. These parties aim to provide political support to anti-ageing and radical life extension research and technologies and want to ensure fastest possible and at the same time soft societal transition to the next step: radical life extension and life without ageing, that will make it possible to provide the access to such technologies to the most of the currently living people.

Famous quotes containing the words political, struggle and/or ageing:

The best political economy is the care and culture of men; for, in these crises, all are ruined except such as are proper individuals, capable of thought, and of new choice and the application of their talent to new labor.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

    What a struggle to relax!
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)

But I must needs take my petulance, contrasting it with my accustomed morning hopefulness, as a sign of the ageing of appetite, of a decay in the very capacity of enjoyment. We need some imaginative stimulus, some not impossible ideal which may shape vague hope, and transform it into effective desire, to carry us year after year, without disgust, through the routine- work which is so large a part of life.
    Walter Pater (1839–1894)
