Again (Alice in Chains Song) - Release and Reception

Release and Reception

"Again" was released as a single in 1996. "Again" peaked at number eight on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and at number 36 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1997.

In the liner notes of 1999's Music Bank box set collection, guitarist Jerry Cantrell said of the song:

This guy, Praga Kahn, did three different mixes. One I didn't like, the second one (Trip Hop Mix) had horns and strings without too many guitars or drums, which I kinda liked. Then there was, which was cool too. We put a couple out as "B" sides in Europe. Personally, I never got used to the idea that you had to give some places extra songs and not others, it should be the same for everybody as far as I'm concerned.

Famous quotes containing the words release and, release and/or reception:

We read poetry because the poets, like ourselves, have been haunted by the inescapable tyranny of time and death; have suffered the pain of loss, and the more wearing, continuous pain of frustration and failure; and have had moods of unlooked-for release and peace. They have known and watched in themselves and others.
    Elizabeth Drew (1887–1965)

The shallow consider liberty a release from all law, from every constraint. The wise man sees in it, on the contrary, the potent Law of Laws.
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)

I gave a speech in Omaha. After the speech I went to a reception elsewhere in town. A sweet old lady came up to me, put her gloved hand in mine, and said, “I hear you spoke here tonight.” “Oh, it was nothing,” I replied modestly. “Yes,” the little old lady nodded, “that’s what I heard.”
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
