Following her ejection from both the Irazábal mansion and the perfume business, she strikes back at Fedora by first killing her lawyer, then by reappearing as Paco Vazquez's long-lost love, Alicia and spinning the truth about what she did to Fedora to favor her. Paco marries her, but soon discovers that Fedora was right all along. Octavia isn't afraid to kill, and does so multiple times during the series. With the help of her caretaker, Isabel, she went into rehab in Houston, emerging to take her revenge on both Deborah and Diana by attempting to steal Diana's newborn child, then kidnapping both Diana herself and Deborah to leave them in an asylum in the middle of the jungle. Deborah overpowers her and escapes to Miami again. When Marfil tries to escape herself, Ignacio drowns her and leaves her for dead. However, she ends up at the same mission as Diana. She then makes contact with Andres and they plan to take their revenge on Ignacio, Diana and Deborah. They find Deborah and burn down her hideout. Following her divorce from Max, she sets her sights on Pedro Salvatierra, planning to murder him and take his money, but her plan backfires when she accidentally drinks the poisoned drink meant for him. She is able to regain all that was taken from her, including her twin girls, who turn out to be Diana and Gaby Soriano. Unfortunately, she loses Paco to his great lost love, Alicia, who later is revealed to be Octavia. This betrayal sends her into an alcoholic tailspin. Her recovery is helped by a young lawyer named Rodrigo, who she meets while preparing to defend Gaby against murder charges. They marry, but their new marriage is tested by Rodrigo's mentally ill daughter, Sharon, who temporarily drives a wedge between them. They reconcile with a little help from Silvita, and Fedora is soon pregnant with her third child. But that pregnancy is threatened when Octavia paralyses her with a deadly spider. The antivenim to counteract the spider bite is so dangerous to the fetus that an emergency abortion is a very real possibility. Fedora insists on carrying the baby to term, and the abortion is not performed. Octavia and Fedora meet for one final showdown, and even though she's in a wheelchair, she manages to give as good as she gets. Sharon also makes one last attempt against her life, and it is during that attempt that Fedora's legs work for a brief moment. Later, she is able to regain full mobility, and their son is born, completely healthy and unharmed by the antivenim.
