Aag (2007 Film)
Aag (originally titled Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag) is a Bollywood action drama film fully created by Ram Gopal Varma. The film was an official remake of the classical success film, Sholay (1975). The remake features Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Ajay Devgan, Prashant Raj Sachdev and Sushmita Sen in lead roles amongst others. It released on 31st August 2007, and received negative response worldwide, totally unlike the original.
The remake was previously titled Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay but due to Varma's infringement of Sippy's trademark and copyright, the Delhi High Court ordered the name change (along with character names), and was therefore renamed to Aag. Aag was heavily panned by critics, and became the biggest Bollywood flop of the year 2007. The film has an IMDb rating of 1.8 and is listed among the 100 worst rated films ever made.
