The field for the event was divided into the following six classes:
- Class A : Front-Wheel-Drive to 1800cc
- Class B : Front-Wheel-Drive 1801–2500cc
- Class C : High-Volume 6-cylinder Production Cars
- Class S : Sportscars to 2500cc
- Class V : Limited-Production Saloons
- Class X : Supercars
