Zvonimir Boban - Reputation

Reputation

Boban is well regarded in Croatia, ever since he made headlines by kicking a Yugoslav policeman who had attacked a Dinamo Zagreb supporter during an on pitch riot. He is known for his patriotism.

Croatia is the reason I live. I love my country as I love myself. I would die for Croatia.

Zvonimir Boban, The Last Yugoslavian Football Team

As a commentator and pundit, Boban has become known as a frank and outspoken analyst. He also retains an interest in his old club, Milan, making his opinions well known about their progress. Most recently, he commented on Kaka's departure to Real Madrid FC, saying Kaka's apparent desire to stay at Milan was "false" and claiming that Milan were "in decline", having lost their strongest players.

Famous quotes containing the word reputation:

“What have I earned for all that work,” I said,
“For all that I have done at my own charge?
The daily spite of this unmannerly town,
Where who has served the most is most defamed,
The reputation of his lifetime lost
    Between the night and morning....”
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

I am sorry to say we whites have a sad reputation among many of the Polynesians. The natives of these islands are naturally of a kindly and hospitable temper, but there has been implanted among them an almost instinctive hate of the white man. They esteem us, with rare exceptions, such as some of the missionaries, the most barbarous, treacherous, irreligious, and devilish creatures on the earth.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)
