Zilla - Trivia

Trivia

  • During the development of Godzilla: Unleashed, Zilla was briefly considered as a playable kaiju, but was not included due its lack of popularity (and possibly due to some Godzilla fans dislike of the TriStar Godzilla). This was later confirmed through statistical provings, keenly available on Japan's website.
  • Though the creature has since been renamed "Zilla," it is important, however, to understand that the creature as seen in Godzilla (1998 film) and the film itself are still licensed by Toho and Sony as "Godzilla." The "copyright seal and circle" included on Godzilla: Final Wars promotional materials is likely the root of the misconception that the creature has been relicensed. To clarify: Toho often creates numerous variations of the same monster and licenses each as an economical practice, as the design of each variation can then be attributed to separate toys. This does not undo previous registration of the characters. You need only look at the fine print on the back of the "Godzilla: Monster Edition" DVD, or David Arnold's score of the 1998 movie (both of which were released after Godzilla: Final Wars) to see that the licensing in regard to the 1998 film is still very much in effect.

Famous quotes containing the word trivia:

The most refined skills of color printing, the intricate techniques of wide-angle photography, provide us pictures of trivia bigger and more real than life. We forget that we see trivia and notice only that the reproduction is so good. Man fulfils his dream and by photographic magic produces a precise image of the Grand Canyon. The result is not that he adores nature or beauty the more. Instead he adores his camera—and himself.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)

Pop artists deal with the lowly trivia of possessions and equipment that the present generation is lugging along with it on its safari into the future.
