YTL Power is the builder, owner and operator of two power plants for a concession period of 21 years following Malaysia's privatisation policy. As the first independent power producer licensed in Malaysia, its power purchase agreement has the best terms offered, which include a take-or-pay clause; which requires Tenaga Nasional to pay a guaranteed amount whether the power is uploaded or not.
