Yekaterinburg Time (YEKT) is the time zone six hours ahead of UTC (UTC+6) and 2 hours ahead of Moscow Time (MSK+2).
In 2011, Russia moved to year-round daylight saving time. Instead of switching between UTC+5 in winter and UTC+6 in summer, Yekaterinburg time was permanently set to UTC+6.
The time zone applies to the Ural Federal District, and Bashkortostan, Orenburg Oblast and Perm Krai in the Volga Federal District
Famous quotes containing the word time:
“When an opponent declares, I will not come over to your side, I calmly say, Your child belongs to us already.... What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.”
—Adolf Hitler (18891945)
