India has always drawn readers from various walks of life and it has a good market for yearbooks; not least because digital reading is not yet as widespread In India as in other countries due to the fact that the number of Indians who have access to computer/smart phones is still relatively low and even fewer use e-book readers like Amazon's Kindle, which costs around Rs.15000-25000. However, as the digitally literate audience grows in India, digital media are slowly replacing the print versions of yearbooks - as demonstrated at the recent Book-Fair 2012 in Kolkata, see Kolkata Book Fair 2012, which saw a decline in the numbers of readers seeking yearbooks because of increasing access to news and current affairs via the Internet,news channels etc.
