Avant garde artist Yoko Ono, who rose to worldwide fame in the late 1960s due to her marriage to John Lennon, descends from the Yasuda family. Ono began managing the couple's finances in the 1970s with a string of successful investments and has managed to consistently keep John Lennon in the top five highest earning dead celebrities since his murder in 1980.
